TheFuturisticIdiot appointed Lead of Python Development
Our Core Team member, TheFuturisticIdiot (Danny Brand), has been appointed as the lead of Python development here at DDD. Danny has been a key part of the team for a long time, and we’re excited to see what she brings to the Python ecosystem.
Finding us on PyPI
As of 22 April 2026, our organisation has been accepted and established on PyPI! Our packages are published under diamonddigitaldev on PyPI. You can find them here.
Our first PyPI package: discord.py-captcha
Our first package on PyPI is discord.py-captcha, a port of our popular discord.js-captcha NPM package. If you’ve used the original, you’ll feel right at home — it brings the same captcha verification functionality for bots, now available to the Discord.py community.
What’s next?
We expect to port more of our popular “maintenance-only” NPM packages to PyPI as time goes on. Rather than letting these packages stagnate on NPM alone, bringing them to Python means they can reach a wider audience and continue to be useful to more developers.
